A lot of people have a dream of winning the lottery. And for some, it happens to be a reality. The Singapore Pools Lottery has many ways to win, including 4D and TOTO games that boast jackpot prizes of $2 million.
Ticket costs are very affordable too, with tickets priced at just S$1. A jackpot prize of $16 million will be awarded to a lucky player in the Toto Hongbao draw on Feb 11, 2022.
Singapore Pools (Private) Limited is a state-owned company that operates lotteries in Singapore. It is a subsidiary of the Tote Board, which is a statutory body under the Ministry of Finance.
The Tote Board regulates Singapore Pools and the country’s sports betting industry. It also oversees horse racing in Singapore.
The Tote Board’s last financial year showed a 40 per cent increase in the amount of money spent on lotteries and sports bets. This was the highest amount recorded in the past decade, The Straits Times reported in December 2022. The spike in betting amounts was attributed to the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, a move that has allowed Singapore Pools to attract more punters.
